May 2010

Dear Friends,

After 20 years in practice — 16 of those years in Redmond — I now have an opportunity to live and work in France for a year. My wife has accepted a position as middle school director at an international school in Paris. It is an incredible opportunity for her and our children.

I have therefore partnered with a wonderful chiropractor, Dr. Laura Gardiner, so that I may take a temporary leave of absence and explore this opportunity with my family. I have found that even within my own chiropractic family (I’m a 4th generation chiropractor) there are different styles — no two chiropractors are exactly the same. However, Dr. Gardiner’s approach and style are very similar to mine; she has been in practice over ten years and also comes from a chiropractic family. She has the added distinction of being a chiropractic radiologist and has taught at a chiropractic college.

I hope I have the opportunity to see you before we leave in July, and I hope you'll continue to seek treatment and support at my office during my absence. I am finding that stepping away from my practice is far more difficult than I expected, but this is certainly “an opportunity of a lifetime” that our family just cannot pass up. With your continued support, I’ll still have a job when I get back!

We will be starting an interactive blog on this website to keep in touch, post travel updates, and share stories. I’ll be exploring the region, working part-time, learning a little French, and investigating whether the French health care system really is as great as they say — my wife and kids will be in it.

Thank you for your support, your understanding, and most of all your trust in me and in my choice of Dr. Gardiner to take over the practice. If you have questions or would like to discuss anything, feel free to call me at the office, stop by for a visit, or send an email.

Best wishes ...
